FMP- Camera Write up

Camera Write up I borrowed a camera and tripod from the college to record my video.  The camera I used was a Nikon D3300. Since I was recording inside, the aperture was set to near enough as wide as it could go and the ISO was increased to around 400. This also helped with the exposure of the shot. The shutter speed was kept at 1/50 as it was shot at 1080p, 25fps. I then put the camera onto the tripod and focused the shot to make sure that the recording would be nice and clear and not blurry. After recording, I then put the footage into premiere pro and cut down any parts that were not needed or parts that were too long.  What went well I followed my story board and shot list and was able to record with no issues. The story board was really helpful when recording because it was basically all planned out for me and all I had to do was just follow the story board and its description. This made the recording process quick and a lot easier. My footage was focused well and the...

Final project Write up

Final project write up What went well? For this project I think that the art went really well. I managed to draw my characters from the font and also draw them 3D. Each drawing had a different colour scheme and different button arrangements. Overall I was really happy with the outcome of the art side of the project. I also managed to get pre production done. A lot of this helped when recording and made it a lot easier and quicker to do since it was already planned out. The 3D modelling of my character went well, i was happy with how it looked as it looked a lot like how I wanted it too. It wasn't the most complex model to make but i still used a variety of tools to make it. What I could improve on Even though I did set myself targets I think the gantt chart lacked detail and the process should have been discussed in more depth. I should have also broke my project down into days and individual days to help more through planning.              ...

Games design project- Creating an update

Image
If I were to design/create an update for Minecraft I would make it so you are able to ride the dragons, this will allow players to get around their Minecraft world in a more swift way and also attack mobs when riding at night. Although there are mods that allow this to happen, I would like to make it an actual thing in the game so everyone is able to do it since younger children may not know how to get mods for Minecraft. Along with this idea, i would add different types of dragons such as: Fire dragons, Water dragons, Lighting dragons, Ice dragons, Earth dragons. They will spawn in certain biomes for example the fire dragons would spawn near lava, Lightning dragons will spawn in stormy weather  etc. To actually ride the dragons, you will need to of course tame them first and then create a mount to then ride them. Once you are able to ride the dragon, you can then perform their attack by pressing a certain button depending on what device you are playing on. Although you are no...

Critical analysis of minecraft- Games design

Minecraft is a survival based game where the player must survive against the monsters that spawn each night. Building a home for yourself anywhere in the world you have entered, the player now has to venture far and wide to survive and conquer unknown lands, travelling to different biomes and encountering different mobs along the way. Minecraft is a game where in you can do about anything from living in a survival to a creative world of just building anything you like, you can even join other players in multiple servers that host minigames and much more. Game Controls The game mechanics of Minecraft is fairly easy for ages all around. With its basic arrow keys to move and its single button to jump along with its touch screen feature that allows players to directly place blocks and attack in the exact location they want. However these controls can be customized to fit the players needs. Controls for those who are playing on consoles or PC are still fairly easy and can still be adjus...

Final Project-3D Model

Image
Character model Here is a 3D model of  my character I made in blender. I started off by getting a cube and making it into more of a rectangular shape to form the body of the character. I then started to create buttons and put the into place. Most of them were pretty easy to make since they were circular however I did use a reference image for the D pad button just to make it more precise and easier to model. Here is a close up of the hands i modelled. I followed a YouTube tutorial on how to create the fingers. I firstly got a cube and scaled it down to a more rectangular shape. After that i then used the loop cut tool twice which then split it into 3. I then extruded the individual faces out a bit and used the subdivision surface modifier which then made the fingers. Once I was happy with the model I then went on to add colour to it Here is my character with colour. I decided to go with the red colour scheme but change the button arrangements. I used blender to add colour...

Youtube is very popular with people in the target audiences age range, often they watch it more than terrestrial media such as TV. So the young audience is influenced by watching their favorite youtubers play Minecraft. The continued development of fan made media througho...

Its diverse gameplay lets players choose the way they play. The game was fully released on November 18th 2011. Since its release, Minecraft has been released onto the following: The game was first released on pc java edition and since then the game has had many updates and developed a lot. As it got released on more technology things such as map sizes where changed to be bigger since the consoles etc could handle it. The developers of Minecraft first announced that they would support cross-platform play between PC and mobile back in  J une 2016 . Shortly after, Minecraft expanded this support to consoles like Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch in 2017. One big thing that is different is the amount of blocks/items in the game.
